The state of Jammu and Kashmir lies in the base of Himalayas between 73-75 degree longitude and 33-36 degree latitude. Topography is mainly hilly and mountainous with valleys and plains at some places.

The overall program goal is to improve the well being of the rural poor through consolidation, strengthening and expansion of gender sensitive community based participatory village development planning.
